Magnolia "March Till Frost"

A truly unique magnolia hybrid that produces flower buds on the stems before it forms leaf buds. It starts with massive flowering in March or April and continues to produce sporadic flowers all summer and early autumn until the first frost. Flowers are 12-18 cm, color is deep purple when plant is established.
Plant is slow growing and tends to form a compact bush or a small tree. Sterile seed cones stand upright like candles and look quite decorative, too.
Selected by August Kehr (USA) and registered in 1997.
