Magnolia "Aashild Kalleberg"


Hardy and floriferous summer blooming variety selected by Olav Kalleberg from Sira, Norway, and named after his wife Aashild. Single-stemmed or broad shrub-like tree with big subtropical foliage up to 40cm long. Flowers big, 20-25cm in diameter, with pure white tepals, dark red stamens, and pleasant scent.

Botanical name: Magnolia x wieseneri "Aashild Kalleberg".
Parentage: Magnolia obovata x Magnolia sieboldii.
Habit: upright or big broad bush-like tree.
Height: 3-5m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 5a.
Flowering time: May - June.
