Bred and selected by Kosar in US National Arboretum in 1956, "Susan" is one of the so-called "Eight Little Girls" (probably the best one of them). Erect red-purple flowers 8-15cm in diameter, six slightly clawed tepals. Easy to grow, compact and floriferous, suitable for small gardens.

Height: 2-3m, up to 4-5m in mild maritime climates.
