Magnolia "Daphne"


Intense-colored yellow hybrid, one of the best yellows. Big bush or compact tree producing quite small (8-14cm) vivid yellow flowers. Blooms very late in the season. 
Bred by August Kehr (USA), grown and selected by Philippe de Spoelbergh (Belgium).

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Daphne".
Parentage: M.acuminata ssp. subcordata "Miss Honeybee" x M."Gold Crown".
Habit: compact tree or globular bush.
Height: 4-6m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 4b.
Flowering time: April - May.
