Magnolia "Yellow Bird"



An old hybrid but still one of the best yellows. Vigorous deciduous tree producing large well-formed deep yellow flowers held upright on the branchesBlooms just before the leaves develop, somewhat earlier than acuminata var. subcordata.

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Yellow Bird".
Other names: Magnolia x brooklynensis "Yellow Bird", magnolia "Yellowbird".
Parentage: M.acuminata x M."Eva Maria".
Habit: vigorous pyramidal growing tree.
Height: 8-10m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 4b.
Flowering time: April - May.
