Magnolia "Joe McDaniel"


One of so-called "Grasham hybrids". It is a small to mid-sized, upright, deciduous tree producing large goblet-shaped flowers (12-20cm in diameter) that are deep red-purple on the outside and white within.

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Joe McDaniel".
Other names: Joe McDaniel #6, LA #77, G66-3.
Parentage: (M.x soulangeana "Rustica Rubra") x (M.x veitchii).
Habit: compact tree.
Height: 5-7m.

Flowering time: April - May.
