Magnolia "Wildcat"


This cultivar produces perfect multitepaled flowers (10-12 cm diameter, up to 52 tepals!) that look like pompom chrysanthemums. 
Compact, suitable for smaller gardens.
Selected and registered by Larry Langford (Tennessee, USA).

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Wildcat".
Other names: Magnolia loebneri "Wildcat".
Parentage: open-pollinated seedling of Magnolia kobus var. borealis.
Habit: compact tree or large bush.
Height: 5-7m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 4a.
Flowering time: March - April.
