Magnolia sargentiana

Chinese species (occurs in Central and Southern Sichuan, Northern and Northeastern Yunnan), very rare in cultivation. Large pink flowers can reach 30-32 cm in diameter, appearing before leaves. Slightly fragrant.
Introduced to Europe in 1908 by Ernest Wilson.

Botanical name: Magnolia sargentiana.
Other names: Sargent's magnolia.
Habit: tall slender tree.
Height: 8-10m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 7b.
Flowering time: April - May.
