Magnolia "Pink Surprise"


Another hardy magnolia for colder climates. Tiny flower buds develop into large, wide tepaled, bright pink flowers. Many secondary flower buds extend the bloom period for up to a month. Bloomed after -32°C. Excellent seed fertility. 
Bred and selected by Dennis Ledvina (Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA)

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Pink Surprise".
Parentage: (M.liliiflora x M.sprengeri var. diva) x (M acuminata x M."Picture").
Habit: upright tree.
Height: 5-7m.
HardinessUSDA zone 5a.
Flowering time: April - May.
