Magnolia "Albatross"

Excellent hardy white-flowered magnolia for colder climates. Produces large, somewhat floppy flowers opening to 28-30 cm across. The petals have a slight greenish tinge towards the base outside; the stamens have crimson anthers and pink filaments
Strong growing tree, very floriferous after some years.

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Albatross"..
Parentage: M. cylindrica x (M. x veitchii "Peter Veitch"). Raised as a chance seedling ed at Trewithen Gardens (Cornwall, Great Britain) and grown on here to become a most spectacular pure white magnolia.’
Habit: upright tree.
Height: 8-10m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 6a.
Flowering time: April.
