Magnolia "Pegasus"

A very early white magnolia for colder climates. Flowers open before the leaves, approximately 10 cm long, tepals suffused purplish pink outside towards the base.’
The mother tree grows in Hillier Garden (Great Britain).This hybrid was propagated for a long time under the name Magnolia cylindrica.

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Pegasus".
Parentage: M. cylindrica x M. denudata.
Habit: upright tree, often multistemmed.
Height: 6-8m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 5b and warmer parts of USDA zone 5a.
Flowering time: March - April.
