Compact shrubby magnolia, one of so called "Eight little girls". Produces nice cup-shaped flowers 12-18 cm in diameter, with 8-10 broad tepals, purplish pink outside and almost white inside.
Bred and selected by Dudley & Kosar in US National Arboretum, Washington DC, USA,1956.
Botanical name: Magnolia x "Pinkie".
Parentage: M. liliiflora "Reflorescens" x M. stellata "Rosea".
Habit: shrub.
Height: 3-4m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 5a.
Flowering time: April - May.
