Magnolia "Angelica"


Beautiful white-flowered variety for colder climates. Bred by Phil Savage (Bloomfield Hills,. Michigan, USA) and grown by Bill Seidl (Manitowoc, Wisconsin, USA). Large pure white flowers have nine round, cup shaped tepals that measure up to 8-9 cm in diameter. 
The flower retains its bowl shape and does not flop with age. The flowering time is intermediate between that of M. cylindrica and saucer magnolia.

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Angelica".
Parentage: Magnolia cylindrica x (Magnolia x soulageana "Sawada’s Pink").
Habit: broad tree.
Height: 5-7m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 5a.
Flowering time: April - May.
