Magnolia "Burgundy Spire"


Very narrow growth habit, suitable for small gardens. Flowers have a clear burgundy exterior and a cream interior. The nine tepals remain upright and do not flop as the flowers age. Because of its abundance of lateral flower buds, it remains in bloom for several weeks. Very good winter hardiness.

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Burgundy Spire".
Parentage: Magnolia "Yellow Bird" x Magnolia "Apollo".
Habit: columnar tree.
Height: 5-7m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 5b.
Flowering time: April - May.
