Magnolia "Colossus"



Excellent cultivar of Siebold's magnolia, selected by Dr.August Kehr (USA). Hardy and floriferous. Large fragrant white flowers with red stamens and 10-20 tepals, up to 10cm in diameter. Plus, "Colossus" has much better heat tolerance than plain Magnolia sieboldii.

Other names: Magnolia R15-3.
Parentage: Magnolia sieboldii "Genesis" (tetraploid) x Magnolia sieboldii (diploid) .
Habit: globular bush.
Height: 2-3m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 4b.
Flowering time: May - July.
