Magnolia "Ann"



Another good one of "Eight Little Girls". Flowers are somewhat smaller than "Susan" but color is darker. Selected by De Vos in US National Arboretum (Washington DC, USA) in 1955. Reddish-pink flowers 8-12cm in diameter, eight (rarely 6-7) tepals. Easy to grow, compact and floriferous, suitable for small gardens.


Parentage: Magnolia liliiflora 'Nigra' x Magnolia stellata 'Rosea'
Habit: compact globular bush
Height: 2-3m, up to 4m in mild maritime climates.
Hardiness: USDA zone 5b.
Flowering time: April.
