Deciduous hybrid of Magnolia sieboldii and red-flowered form of subtropical evergreen Magnolia insignis. Hand-pollinated by Dennis Ledvina (Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA), selected and registered by Dick Figlar (South Carolina, USA). Flowers look like a pink version of M.sieboldii.
Floriferous.
Botanical name: Magnolia x "Oyama Rose".
Parentage: M.sieboldii "Colossus" x M.insignis "Anita Figlar".
Habit: globular bush.
Height: 2-3m.
Hardiness: needs to be tested. Most probably USDA zone 6a.
Flowering time: May - June.
