Magnolia "Goliath"

"Goliath" is a large-flowered European selection of Southern magnolia. It has glossy, leathery dark green leaves, and very fragrant, cup-shaped, creamy-white flowers to 30cm in diameter. Leaves are large broad blunt-tipped.
Relatively hardy.

Botanical name: Magnolia grandiflora 
"Goliath".
Parentage: uknown. Mother tree was discovered by American botanist Albert Charles Smith (1906-1999) in former Caledonian Nurseries on British island Guernsey in 1910.
Habit: rounded small tree  or large shrub.
Height: 5-7m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 7a and warmer parts of USDA zone 6b in Europe; USDA zone 6b in North America.
Flowering time: June - August.
