Magnolia "Freeman"

Photo: Roy A. Edwards. Licensed under a CC BY 3.0 New Zealand
A hybrid with smaller evergreen grandiflora-like leaves, large cup-shaped creamy white flowers and intense citrus fragrance. The resemblance of "Freeman" to M.grandiflora is so great that difficulty might be encountered in distinguishing the hybrid plants without resorting to technical botanical characters. Selected by O. M. Freeman of the United States National Arboretum.
Quite hardy, ideal for small gardens.
