Magnolia "Maryland"

hardy evergreen hybrid with large, cup-shaped, creamy white flowers and intense citrus fragrance. Very similar to Magnolia grandiflora but somewhat more hardy. Both "Maryland" and its brother seedling "Freeman" were selected by O. M. Freeman of the United States National Arboretum.

Botanical name: Magnolia x 
"Maryland".
Parentage: M.virginiana x M.grandiflora.
Habit: small tree of spreading habit.
Height: 5-6m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 6b and warmer parts of USDA zone 6a.
Flowering time: June - July.
