Magnolia "Woodsman"

"Woodsman" is probably the most unusually colored magnolia. It produces erect, fragrant flowers with a combination of yellow, green, rose and purple coloring in the tepals. Excellent breeder plant. Extremely hardy, blooms late in the season and avoids most of late spring frosts.
Bred and selected by Joe McDaniel (Illinois, USA).

Botanical name: Magnolia x brooklynensis "Woodsman".
Parentage: M. acuminata "Klassen" x M. liliiflora "O'Neill".
Habit: upright tree.
Height: 6-8m.
HardinessUSDA zone 4a.
Flowering time: May - June.
