An attractive, floriferous hybrid producing well-formed, upright, ivory white flowers with a basal purplish-pink flash.
Fragrant. Blooms late in the season, flowers appear white from a distance. Bred and selected by Todd Gresham in Morris Arboretum (Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA).
Botanical name: Magnolia x "Sayonara".
Parentage: (M. x soulangeana "Lennei Alba") x (M. x veitchii).
Habit: compact tree.
Height: 6-7m.
Flowering time: April - May.
