Magnolia "Royal Crown"

Gresham hybrid producing goblet-shaped purple-pink flowers, white inside. The outermost tepals are reflexed, giving the effect of a crown. Blooms at a young age and early in the season. Flowers are quite frost tolerant.
Hybridized by Todd Gresham in Morris Arboretum (Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA).

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Royal Crown".
Parentage: M. liliiflora x (M. x veitchii)
Habit: large shrub or small tree.
Height: 3-4m.
HardinessUSDA zone 6a.
Flowering time: April (March - April in warmer climates).
