Magnolia "Russet"

Another compact cultivar of Magnolia grandiflora. Somewhat similar to "Little Gem" but more hardy. White flowers are very fragrant, up to 25 cm diameter. Leaves are large, leathery, shiny. Buds and leaves beneath are covered with orange-brown tomentose.

Botanical name: Magnolia grandiflora "Russet".
Habit: Upright, narrow oval tree.
Height: 5-6m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 7a and warmer parts of USDA zone 6b.
Flowering time: June - August.
