Magnolia "Elizabeth"

Yellow classics, truly outstanding hybrid. Upright buds open to pale yellow flowers with red stamens. Flowers are large, up to 25cm wide, opening almost flat before falling. The yellow color is deeper on early flowers and after mild winters. Compact, ideal for small gardens. 
Hybridized by Eva Marie Sperber in Brooklyn Botanic Garden (New York, USA).

Botanical name: Magnolia x "Elizabeth".
Parentage: M. acuminata x M. denudata.
Habit: upright tree.
Height: 6-8m.
Hardiness: USDA zone 4a.
Flowering time: April - May.
